Thank you for your support, and let’s make this school year a success for children in our community!
Fresh Start Program
Our Fresh Start initiative at BAME Lone Parents Network helps children from low-income families feel equal to their peers by providing them with necessary school uniforms and essentials. With the right school attire, children gain confidence, comfort, and the ability to thrive in their learning environment.
The Fresh Start project runs year-round, allowing families to order uniforms and other essentials like winter coats, school bags, sports kits, and stationery whenever they need them. By supporting Fresh Start, you’re helping local children fit in, focus, and feel a part of their school community.
Accessing Fresh Start Support All Fresh Start services are free for families to access. If you need assistance, visit our For Families page for more details. If you’re a professional helping a family, please refer to our For Referrers page.
Impact of Donations To date, Fresh Start has provided over 300 children and families with school uniforms and essential items across the community.
Financial contributions make it possible for families to receive packs of new, non-branded school uniforms. Orders are prepared and delivered directly to the family’s home through our uniform supplier. Thanks to donations, uniforms, rucksacks, winter coats, sports kits, and stationery are also available for families attending our
Family Essentials program.
Supporting Fresh Start allows children to feel a greater sense of belonging and to focus on their education without the worry of school uniform costs.

Our Impact
How You Can Help
To keep our Family Essentials program running, we rely on donations. We accept clean, good-quality new and gently used items. Check our donation list to see what’s needed, and click on ‘Donate Items’ to arrange collection or drop-off. Each donation helps us meet the needs of families, whether it’s providing a warm bed or school-ready clothing.

Specific Donation Needs
Our Books for Kids initiative at BAME Lone Parents Network transforms young lives by fostering a love of reading. Books open doors to imagination, creativity, and growth. They can inspire, enhance reading skills, and transport children to new worlds, even when their families face challenging times.
Your book donations can help us provide children affected by poverty in London and Africa with access to the joy and magic of reading.

How Your Donations Help
We partner with local schools to host Book Roadshow events throughout the year, where children can select and take home books to keep. Additionally, we distribute books through our Family Basics program year-round, ensuring children always have access to reading material.
Each year, we hold a special Books for Kids Appeal, where we specifically seek donations of brand-new books. We’re grateful for good-quality secondhand book donations as well, which we welcome all year.
Every year , our goal is to distribute over 500 books through our Book Roadshows and Family Essentials project, helping to inspire young readers. Your support makes all the difference—giving a child a book can truly impact their life and foster a lifelong love for reading.
How You Can Support Books for Kids
Thank you for helping bring the joy of reading to children in need!
Childhood Experiences Program
At BAME Lone Parents Network, we believe that every child deserves joyful memories. In the past, we ran popular Holiday Camps and Youth Clubs, creating lasting, happy memories for the children we supported—memories of seaside trips to Blackpool, laughter, and excitement that many still cherish today
While providing tangible support remains crucial, we know the lasting impact of happy childhood experiences. This understanding inspired us to create Childhood Experiences.
Our Childhood Experiences program introduces children facing poverty to enriching activities they might otherwise miss. We partner with activity providers, corporate sponsors, and child-focused organizations to offer free events and experiences that open doors to new interests and joy.
Through Childhood Experiences, children have enjoyed unforgettable outings to theaters, climbing centers, and museums. These experiences give them a chance to explore, dream, and make memories that will stay with them for a lifetime.
Together, we can help every child build beautiful childhood memories.
Each year, Christmas Lunch on Jesus provides festive boxes filled with everything needed for a joyous Christmas meal. Our boxes contain turkey, vegetables, potatoes, gravy, Christmas pudding, crackers, chocolates, and all the trimmings for a truly memorable Christmas lunch. We distribute these boxes to families and individuals on low incomes who might otherwise struggle to afford a Christmas meal.
Who We Help: This initiative is particularly aimed at:
Each box we distribute also includes a candle, a booklet about the true meaning of Christmas, and an invitation to our Christmas services in London and Africa.
Global Reach: This year, we’re excited to partner with friends in Africa to provide Christmas boxes for some of the poorest individuals living in slums. These boxes will contain rice, lentils, dahl, biscuits, sweets, and more—a Christmas feast for those who face poverty every day. Each box will also include a celebration candle and a New Testament.
Join us in making this Christmas special by helping to pack and deliver boxes at our Wood Green location in December. If you’re interested in volunteering or want more information, please contact Glory Asher, Christmas Lunch on Jesus Project Administrator, at 0207 175 5108.
