These beneficiaries are trained based on their areas of need or interest and then after the training, equipment are provided for each of the trainee based on what they are trained on. The vocational training includes; Tailoring, Shoe Making, Barbing, Hair Dressing, catering/interior Deco and pastries
BAME initiate Integrated Health Programme (IHP) with the aim of alleviating the health problems of single parent families and vulnerable persons. High percentage of these groups cannot afford to put good food on their table let alone getting good health care services for themselves.
MENTAL HEALTH
BAME mental health programme vision is to envisions a world where all Single parents affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares.
BAME has been working in the area of Mental health for Youths and women with intensifying efforts on vulnerable groups like Women with disabilities and Women living with HIV, seeking to influence policy issues through advocacy and work to promote involvement and participation of stakeholders in the provision of good quality health to its citizenry.
BAME was established, as a movement to improve the lives of marginalized and vulnerable groups. It has since then been one of the leading NGOs on rural development and empowerment in UK & Nigeria. The success of the organization has been on the increase and depended on emerging needs of the communities where it works. Its activities are not only community driven but community ownership is weaved into the design of every community project from the outset; hence sustainability is ensured. Critical aspect of our strategic vision is that, every programme has social inclusion of marginalized and vulnerable groups and the incorporation of persons from these groups in public offices.
Usually refers to monitoring expenditure or close examination, scrutiny, follow-up and evaluation of the budgeting process right from planning, allocation and disbursement to implementation. It can be looked at vertically (i.e. how does money flow through a system from national to district to local level), or horizontally (how are disbursements made at one point in the system, are they regular and spent as planned?
Budget tracking can also link to an evaluation of the impact of a particular budget, looking at whether expenditure had the intended impact, or focusing on the impact of different groups of the population.
For example, were people in rural areas impacted in the same way as those in urban areas? How were boys and girls impacted? It is also essential to think through how you intend to use this analysis.
The main purpose of budget tracking is to expose corruption at all level of government, agencies and organization. This what BAME do in collaboration with other concerned stakeholders and Civil society organizations.
National Gender policy, identifying gaps of women participation in politics and Advocacy for women inclusion in politics. The sensitization and advocacy reach many in the community members directly in the areas we work
It was learnt that women reached appreciated the dissemination meeting and agitated for further integration to the most rural women in hard to reach areas. It was also learnt that many women are still illiterate in the communities.
Women also believe that politic is a way to get quick money, though the large chunk of the money is taken by the men who lead. It was recommended during the implementation that
National Gender Policy and Women participation in politics is very important in nation building, therefore these issues need serious attention and everybody in our communities must be part of the vanguard.
All hands needs to be on deck for the 35% affirmative action to be realized. Having sensitized Women in different areas on their involvement in active politics and gender issues, they were encouraged and many promised to inform and support of their spouse to be active in politics. This is expected to be more evident in the general election.
Child Protection Committee: This intervention programme to offer protection to the children and their family at large is considered very essential; hence the need to make and put into action programmes that are at the paramount interest of these children.
These intervention programmes should include effort to deal with and diminish the veracity of stigma and social disregard faced by vulnerable children, also abuse and exploitation including trafficking. Children are very vulnerable to abuse; therefore, there is need for protection service for these children to ensure that children are not subjected to any form of abuse, violence, exploitation, neglect, stigma and discrimination. Children faced with this challenge are exceptionally out in the open to abuse and retarded growth.
The service of a caregiver becomes necessary here to curb this abuse and also, institutional reaction to the challenge at this spot is vital to meet the needs of these children. It ensures that these children are socially acknowledged loved and have access to essential services and basic rights as other children in the society.
Election Monitoring and Voter Education: The need for a free and fair election is one of the most important parts of democracy; hence BAME plan to take during election monitoring and voter education. BAME will make sure that the outcome of the election is what was announced and was out to monitor if there were any irregularities during the election.
